Edythe Chapman was a successful stage and film actress. She married actor James Neill in 1897; she was a member of his stock company. Along with her husband, she performed in Seattle productions included "Barbara Frietchie" (January 1902) and "Red Knight" (October 1902) at the Grand Opera House. Chapman and Neill performed together in Cecil B. DeMille's silent films "The Ten Commandments," "The Little American," and "Manslaughter."
