William Collier was born to acting parents in 1866 and began his stage career in a children's production of "H.M.S. Pinafore" in his native New York. He would go on to have a long career on stage and screen. Collier retired from acting in 1927 and died in 1944 at the age of 77. He was in two touring productions that made it to Seattle: "The Dictator" in 1905 and "Caught in the Rain" in 1908.
